Daniel and I go and see Roger Platts, a renowned plants’ expert and Chelsea gold medallist. Roger knows exactly what plant quality is needed to succeed at the Show. We feel fortunate that he sources and nurtures our perennials and will try everything to let them shine on judging day.
A lot of the young plants already look quite promising. The colors of our patinated copper go well with a lot of plants, e.g. with Nepeta. We are a bit worried as there was almost no winter to speak of and that by consequence the plants could be over prior to the Show. There also seems to be a problem of sourcing Irises, one of our focal plants. We definitely have to come up with alternatives.
