Choosing key plants for Chelsea Flower Show

Nicole is carefully choosing a Pinus sylvestris 'Watereri' 2 Daniel Taxus-cut

We went to visit nurseries Bruns and Lorenz von Ehren to select the key plants for our show garden. The region of Ammerland in North Germany with its mild climate and humus-rich soil is home to 350 nurseries. Imagine the wealth of trees and shrubs we passed on our way to the nurseries in Bad Zwischenahn! We were very excited walking rows and rows of superbly clipped Taxus baccata and elegantly shaped Pinus sylvestris ‘Watereri’‚ choosing the best for our show garden. Especially the velvety blue-green of a pine tree against a pale blue sky on a sunny winter day is a spectacular sight!
